Intersecciones – Contemporary Art Exhibition by Rosana Auqué in Barcelona, Spain

A contemporary art exhibition where freedom, perception, and emotion converge — inspired by Rosana Auqué’s thesis at the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia), exploring the infinite intersections of the human spirit.

“Intersecciones” is not just an exhibition — it is the expansion of a lifelong question: how many ways are there to reveal the same image?

In this Barcelona exhibition, Rosana Auqué revisits the philosophical and emotional roots of her artistic journey, first explored in her thesis “Intersecciones” at Universidad de los Andes.

The works presented embody the intersection between thought and instinct, between what we see and what we feel. They are traces of encounters — fleeting yet eternal — that echo Monet’s pursuit of capturing the smoke of a moving train: the impossible made visible through devotion to the moment.

Each painting is both mirror and passage. Through matter, color, and rhythm, Auqué seeks to dissolve the boundaries between inner and outer worlds. Her compositions suggest that freedom is not absence of constraint, but the profound certainty of seeing infinity with closed eyes.

Barcelona, city of converging lines and luminous contradictions, becomes the stage for this meditation on presence. Through *Intersecciones*, Rosana Auqué invites us to recognize that art exists where two universes meet — where the visible and the invisible intersect.

“I painted these works with both my hands and my breath, letting the pigments find their own path,” says Rosana Auqué.

The series was created using acrylic, gesso, and metallic varnish on wooden panels, applied in spontaneous yet deliberate layers. Her creative act resembles meditation — the dissolution of thought into pure awareness. Gestural strokes meet precise geometry, embodying the fragile balance between chaos and order, emotion and structure.

Each painting becomes a fragment of a larger identity — rhythmic, obsessive, and infinitely evolving — echoing the artist’s reflection that *every perception is condemned to its own world.

Intersecciones – Photomontage by Rosana Auqué reflecting the inversion of perception and urban vision.

Presented in Barcelona in 2015, Intersecciones marks a pivotal moment in Rosana Auqué’s artistic trajectory, bridging her Mediterranean influences and her introspective visual language. The exhibition originates from her awarded graduation thesis, recognized as the Best Final Project of the Year, where she explored the philosophical and emotional dimensions of “intersection” as both a visual and human concept.

Conceived initially as an academic inquiry, Intersecciones evolved into a mature artistic statement that continues to inform Auqué’s creative process and later exhibitions across Europe and Latin America.

“From the intersection of two worlds, a new one is born. I paint that moment — when the invisible becomes visible.”
