Connection: Contemporary Art Exhibition in Santa Marta by Rosana Auqué

A luminous journey through color, rhythm, and emotion inspired by Colombia’s Caribbean soul.

“Connection” is a visual journey born on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, in the radiant city of Santa Marta — a place where color, rhythm, and humanity are inseparable.

In this exhibition, Rosana Auqué translates the essence of connection — between people, between the sea and the mountains, between the visible and the invisible — into a luminous dialogue of shapes and emotions.

The works pulsate with tropical vitality: blues that breathe, pinks that hum, oranges that seem to hold the sun. Each canvas is a living fragment of the city’s spirit, a celebration of coexistence, and a meditation on belonging.
Through her distinctive language of balloons and suspended forms, Auqué captures the invisible threads that unite individuals and cultures, turning every stroke into a heartbeat of empathy and joy.

“Connection” is not only a tribute to Santa Marta; it is an invitation to rediscover the meaning of togetherness. The exhibition reminds us that beauty exists in the act of relating — to others, to our memories, and to the landscapes that shape who we are.

“Each piece was born under the Caribbean light,” says Auqué. The artist used acrylic, gesso, and metallic pigments on wood panels, allowing textures to emerge naturally through layers of emotion and intuition.

Gestural strokes intertwine with soft transparencies, reflecting both spontaneity and control — a duality that defines her practice. The hand becomes the bridge between impulse and harmony, between earth and air.

Painting, for Auqué, is an act of reconnection — a return to essence, to color as language, and to creation as a form of prayer..

The show gathered collectors, artists, and visitors from across the region, turning the gallery into a space of conversation, rhythm, and shared emotion.
